Monthly Quickie Mindful Practice
Each month I'll be giving you a quick mindful / self care practice you can start to implement into your
daily routine to help you slow down, minimize the stress and connect with YOU!
When we talk about mindfulness (or self care) the aim is to get in tune with what's happening here and now.
It's about letting go of the worry and thoughts connected to our stress,
learning to center ourselves, focus and make a conscious decision
to stay out of the overwhelm and nurture our needs!
MONTH ONE
ENERGIZE WITH THE BREATH
We're starting with breathing because learning to breath properly is absolutely essential!
More oxygen in our bodies promotes a sense of calm, aids detoxification,
increases our energy levels and releases "feel good" endorphins in our bodies.
To get started simply take a few minutes to stand tall, eyes closed, arms at your side,
legs hip-width apart and palms facing forward
(mountain pose for any yoga lovers).
Inhale deeply and sweep your arms over your head slowly so your palms
meet above your head. As you exhale lower your arms back to
your sides with your breath.
Continue for a few deep breaths to ground and center yourself.
