Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy
What Is Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy?
An Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist
is trained to work with clients to create individualized lifestyle programs supportive of their client’s unique body and mind constitution types called “Doshas."
Ayurvedic yoga therapy is a complementary therapy to any
health care regime and can be enjoyed and utilized by anyone to integrate a holistic approach to overall personal wellness.
An Ayurvedic Yoga therapist uses the fundamental language
(the doshas) and the principles of Ayurvedic medicine and yoga to address each unique individual and their personal constitution. Using the foundational tools of Ayurveda and knowledge of how energy centers of the body function are the key to reintroducing balance to the body's physiological systems, thus supporting mind, body and spiritual healing.
How Does it Work?
We start with a consultation to determine your specific constitution according to a series of questions and the nature of any imbalances you may currently be experiencing.
As our lives are in a constant state of evolution and change naturally, so is our state of balance in both mind and body.
Through either a one time or routine consultations,
we work together to determine how we can bring things back into alignment through a program consisting of specific
Yoga postures (asana,) breathing techniques (pranayama,) and meditation (dyhana) along with constitutional specific nutritional and lifestyle recommendations including personal care and aromatherapy suggestions.
Each consultation can be viewed as an opportunity to address physical or mental imbalances as they arise and work with them in their early stages as a form of holistic preventative therapy.
